Mesbah grew up in Springfield and studied at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign before attending Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, where a love for family medicine took hold, caring for people through every stage of life. Training continued at SIU's Quincy Family Medicine Residency, followed by years across outpatient clinics, nursing homes, emergency rooms, and hospitals. That range made clear how often the healthcare system gets in the way of what actually matters, which is what led to founding 217 Medicine Direct, a practice built on transparency, compassion, and honest, unhurried time with patients.

A lifelong Springfield resident, Mesbah writes poetry, cooks, and golfs enthusiastically, keeps a sneaker collection that's grown a bit out of hand, and spends free time reading, listening to music, and with friends and family.
