Kimberly Samuel, NP

Dr. Kimberly Samuel is a nurse practitioner and founder of A Heartbeat Away Clinic in Decatur, with a doctorate in behavioral health and more than a decade of experience in comprehensive, patient-centered primary care. Her background blends nursing and behavioral health, and that combination shapes a holistic, outcomes-focused approach to how she treats patients.

Her education started with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Alabama, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing as a nurse practitioner from the University of Cincinnati. A Doctorate in Behavioral Health from the University of Arizona rounded out her training and strengthened her focus on integrating behavioral health into primary care.

A Heartbeat Away Clinic, the nonprofit she founded, serves underserved and uninsured patients throughout North Alabama and nearby communities. She also runs a monthly clinic for the homeless population in Huntsville, an extension of her broader commitment to health equity and community outreach.
