Steven Manning, MD

Dr. Steven Manning is a family medicine physician who founded AccessMedicine in Williamston, North Carolina. He started the subscription-based practice because he believed good health should be about patients and their families, not insurance companies.

Manning grew up in Williamston and earned a bachelor's degree in exercise physiology from East Carolina University in 2002, followed by his MD from ECU's Brody School of Medicine in 2008. He completed his family medicine residency at Brody and Vidant Medical Center, where he served as both junior chief resident and chief resident, then returned home to open Martin Family Medicine.

After watching patients grow frustrated with insurance paperwork, he made the leap to an independent, subscription-based model. AccessMedicine now has locations in Williamston and Washington, North Carolina, where Manning focuses on longer visits and a more comprehensive, holistic approach to care.
