Jennifer Smith, DO

Jennifer Smith is a family medicine physician at Accomplished Health & Wellness in Lawrence.

Born in Philadelphia, she grew up in Topeka after her father moved the family back to Kansas, spending childhood summers with relatives on the east coast. An aunt who worked as a nurse gave her a stethoscope when she was five, sparking an interest in medicine that never faded. She studied biology and chemistry at Washburn University before heading east to the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she graduated in the top ten percent of her 2006 class, drawn to the hands-on, whole-body approach of osteopathic training.

Calling herself a country girl at heart, she chose a rural family medicine residency with Guthrie Health Systems in Sayre, Pennsylvania, and was named Resident of the Year in 2009. She then spent her first five years in practice in the small rural town of Blue Earth, Minnesota.
