Angela Prato, MD

My path to Ad Astra Health has never been about choosing one interest over another — it's been about weaving them together. I've always been drawn to understanding people and the systems we live within, through science, the humanities, and the quiet art of observation.

That curiosity led me to study the History of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Oklahoma, where I earned my BS in Zoology, Minor in History of Science, and a Certificate in Public Health in Epidemiology. I later completed my MD at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and Family Medicine Residency at St. Mary's in Grand Junction, CO, earning board certification through the American Board of Family Medicine in 2018.

In Family Medicine, and especially in Direct Primary Care, I've found a home for all of it: the science, the inquiry, and the heart. I approach each patient with curiosity and respect, guided by the belief that good medicine is unhurried, relational, and rooted in listening. I don't pretend to have every answer — but I'm always learning, growing, and striving to be a better physician, teacher, and human being.
