A. Giselle Argento-Berrio, MD

Dr. Giselle Argento-Berrio practices family medicine at Adwuma Family Medicine in Middleton.

Originally from Barranquilla, Colombia, she came to the Chicago suburbs at age eight and later spent time living in China and Brazil before earning a sociology degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her path into medicine grew out of years as a diabetes clinical researcher at Stroger Hospital of Cook County and work as a birth doula around Chicago. She went on to earn a public health certificate from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, then moved to Madison for the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, completing her MD with distinction in public health.

She trained at Swedish Medical Center First Hill in Seattle with a distinction in reproductive health, then worked as a full-spectrum rural doctor in Okanogan County, Washington. Back in Wisconsin, she has held clinical leadership roles at the Dane County and Racine County Jails and with Landmark Health and Optum's Home Based Medical Care program.
