Derek Surdez

Derek Surdez is a family medicine physician at Agape Direct Primary Care in Andover, Kansas. He grew up in Sabetha, a small town in the northeast part of the state, before earning a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology at Kansas State University.

He went on to medical school at the University of Kansas and completed his Family Medicine residency at Via Christi in Wichita. His path into medicine took shape while watching his father struggle through a long battle with pancreatitis, an experience that grew into a deep compassion for people who are sick and suffering. That same instinct draws him to Direct Primary Care, where he can build real relationships with patients, take the time to actually listen, and make sure nothing they need goes unaddressed.

He loves swimming in the ocean, brewing a good cup of coffee, and listening to For King and Country, and he spends much of his free time with his wife, Emma, and their two children.
