Chris Lupold, MD, FAAFP

Chris Lupold, MD, FAAFP, is a family physician at Alere Family Health in Ronks. Lupold grew up in rural Pennsylvania, where a mother who practiced family medicine gave an early, close view of what medicine used to look like before it got complicated.

The concept of direct primary care caught Lupold's attention back in 1999, particularly the promise of price transparency and more time with patients. After 16 years in employed practice, Lupold made the decision to open an independent office built around that idea. The name Alere, Latin for "to heal," reflects the goal behind it, a small effort to fix a healthcare system that feels broken in so many ways.
