Dr. Barragan completed his Family Medicine residency at Manatee Memorial Hospital where he trained alongside the area's best specialists giving Dr. Barragan the opportunity to identify the allied health professionals who he would consider sending his family to.
Dr. Barragan received his Osteopathic Medical degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine located at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. It was here that he trained with some of the nations most talented Osteopathic physicians to learn the skills of Osteopathic manipulation which he utilizes on a daily basis and has experienced significant success in treating both acute and chronic pain. Osteopathic manipulation is offered separately from the DPC membership.
A native of Maryland, Dr. Barragan was drawn to the area after spending time during his youth training at IMG Academy in Bradenton and at Athletic Edge Sports in Lakewood Ranch. More so, his family has strong ties as his relatives were members of both the world famous Ringling Circus and the Circus Arts Conservatory in Sarasota.
Dr. Barragan's passion for the health of his patients goes beyond the exam room. He has gone as far as helping patients design their own healthy lifestyle, utilizing local meal prep solutions and has even hosted training sessions with patients at local parks.
Living close to where he practices is important to Dr. Barragan, a native of Lakewood Ranch himself with his wife Jess, children Charlie and Hayes, and dog Oshie, he believes in making the community stronger through providing the best quality healthcare possible and developing strong bonds with his patients.
