Stefan Harmeling, MD

Aloha Nui DPC in Hilo is led by Dr. Stefan Harmeling, an independent family physician who cares for patients through the full range of acute and chronic issues, preventive care, and end-of-life care. He works by a simple philosophy, imagining the world not as it is but as it should be, and working each day toward that change.

He earned his undergraduate degree from Florida State University before attending medical school at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, then completed his internship and residency at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles. His career since has taken him from the Venice Family Clinic to Bay Clinic in Pahoa, then into hospitalist work at Hilo Medical Center. He has also served on medical missions in Haiti and in East Africa.

Dr. Harmeling founded Aloha Nui Family Practice in 2007 and has led its evolution into Aloha Nui DPC, where he continues practicing today.
