Dr. Sorensen has wanted to be a doctor since she was four years old and grew up in the suburbs of Houston, studying biochemistry at Rice University.
She graduated cum laude from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia in 2003 and completed her residency in family medicine at MAHEC in Asheville, North Carolina, with additional training in sports medicine.
Her true passion is family medicine because of the relationships built with patients, the variety of patients treated, and the opportunity to make a significant long-term contribution to patient health.
After five years in private practice in Asheville, she relocated to Austin. Dr. Sorensen has a wonderful husband, two curious boys, and two mischievous dogs. In her spare time she enjoys yoga, cooking, and running.
