James Bailey, MD

Dr. James Bailey is a family medicine physician at Artisan Primary Care in Post Falls. His mother was the pediatrician for the small community where he grew up, and seeing how grateful her patients were for her care first drew him toward medicine himself.

He majored in neurobiology at the University of Washington, then went on to the University of Michigan for medical school on a Dean's scholarship recognizing academic and leadership excellence. Wanting to return to the Northwest, he completed his Family Medicine residency at Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene, where frustration with insurance bureaucracy and corporate medicine led him to his partner and mentor Dr. Jacobsen and to Direct Primary Care. His interests include mental and behavioral health, adolescent medicine, hormone therapy, and preventive care.

He and his wife keep busy with their kids, time on the lake, board games, and camping.
