Richard Edgerly, MD

Dr. Richard Edgerly is Chief Medical Officer and a family practice physician at Assurance Healthcare and Counseling Center in Yakima, Washington. Before medicine, he earned a bachelor's degree in bacteriology and public health from Washington State University and spent 13 years in laboratory medicine and healthcare administration. He later went on to earn his MD from the University of Washington School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency in family practice at Central Washington Family Medicine in Yakima.

Dr. Edgerly has practiced in the Yakima Valley for more than 20 years, and his career has been marked by steady leadership. He chaired the Family Medicine Department at both Yakima Regional and Yakima Valley Memorial hospitals, served as Physician Director for Health Management Associates at the local and national levels, and chaired the Physician Executive Committee before starting Assurance Healthcare and Counseling Center. He has also served as Chief of Staff, among numerous other leadership roles throughout his career.
