Laura Petrescu, MD

Dr. Laura Petrescu is a triple board-certified physician in Internal Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine, and Menopause Medicine, and she is the founder and CEO of Athena Direct Primary Care & Lifestyle Medicine in Pittsford, the first DPC practice in the Rochester metropolitan area.

She trained originally as a surgeon in Romania, then completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Rochester General Hospital, where she served as chief resident. Over more than two decades of medical training and practice, she has worked across both traditional and proactive care models, and she brings that range into how she practices now, pairing evidence-based medicine with a personal approach to prevention and wellness.

Her focus areas include nutrition, lifestyle modification, and chronic disease prevention, with particular interest in women's health, menopause, and metabolic wellness.
