Shandra Basil, DO

Dr. Shandra Basil is a board-certified osteopathic family physician at Basil Family Medicine in Chillicothe, Ohio. She earned her medical degree from Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her family medicine residency at Adena Regional Medical Center, after finishing a bachelor's in exercise biology and a master's in human anatomy at Wright State University. She also teaches osteopathic manipulative medicine as a clinical assistant professor at OUHCOM and was named the ACOFP's Young Family Physician of the Year in 2024.

Her approach leans holistic, blending nutrition guidance with osteopathic manipulation to support the body's own healing.

A Chillicothe native, Dr. Basil grew up in the town where she now practices and met her husband there. They have two children, and she likes spending time with family and friends, volunteering at Rock City Church, and traveling, especially to national parks, Disney World, and on cruises.
