Kevin Baxter, DO

Kevin Baxter is a family medicine physician at Baxter Family Medicine in Astoria, Oregon, where he has practiced since 2003. He spent twelve years in private practice before joining the Columbia Memorial Hospital primary care team for five years, a stretch that brought real professional growth but also pulled him further into administrative work and away from the exam room. Missing the direct patient care that drew him to medicine in the first place, he returned to private practice through Direct Primary Care, a model built to lower costs, expand access, and give patients more time with their doctor.

Baxter has watched insurance authorizations, documentation, and quality metrics crowd out the physician-patient relationship over the past two decades, and he was ready to spend less time treating a computer and more time treating people.

He and his wife ride the Harley together, work their hobby farm, garden, hike, and kayak, and spend time with their two daughters, grandchildren, and their dog. They love living on Oregon's North Coast and plan on staying there for good.
