Dr. Margarita Diaz-Ochu (also known as Dr. Margie Diaz-Ochu or Dr. Ochu) is a pediatrician devoted to transforming children's healthcare by blending evidence-based medicine with family-centric care based on trust, patience, and compassion.
She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas and completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of Utah. In 2016, she was promoted to Assistant Professor at University of Utah School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, where she specialized in treating newborns suffering from neonatal opioid withdrawal (NOWS) after in utero opioid exposure.
Dr. Diaz-Ochu worked with the University of Utah Substance Use and Pregnancy Recovery Addiction Dependence (SUPeRAD) program, reinforcing her passion for caring for patients with special health care needs and her commitment to treating their parents with respect and compassion.
She opened Bee Home Pediatrics in 2022, one of the first direct pay pediatric clinics in Salt Lake City, providing complete medical care from infancy through college. Her multidisciplinary, holistic approach creates a medical home for families with longer visits, direct access, and personalized attention.
Dr. Diaz-Ochu has a special interest in children's nutrition and focuses on helping parents set a solid foundation for their children's physical, mental, and emotional health.
