I seek to provide evidenced-based, quality care for each of my patients as I partner with them on their individual journey towards health." — Precious Barnes, DO, MS Dr. Precious Barnes is a board-certified physician specializing in Family Medicine and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. With over a decade of experience, she currently serves as a Hospitalist at Skagit Regional Hospital in Mount Vernon, WA, where her responsibilities include inpatient care, ICU procedures, and teaching residents. Dr. Barnes has an extensive academic background, including a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), where she also earned two master’s degrees in Biomedical Sciences and Neuromuscular Skeletal Science. She completed her Family Medicine residency at University Hospitals Richmond Medical Center in Cleveland, OH, serving as Chief Resident, followed by a Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine residency at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Eastern Finland. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Barnes is an Associate Journal Editor for the American Academy of Osteopathy Journal , contributing to peer-reviewed publications and guiding authors. Her research has earned numerous accolades, including awards for her work on osteopathic manipulative treatments and their impact on patient outcomes. She has presented her findings internationally and remains committed to advancing the field through research and education. Fluent in American Sign Language and proficient in Spanish, Dr. Barnes brings a global perspective to her practice. Her dedication to service extends beyond medicine through active involvement in community outreach and mentoring programs. Recognized for her clinical excellence and compassionate care, she was recently honored as Teacher of the Year for Family Medicine Residents at Skagit Regional Health in 2024.
