Melissa Bloom, MD

Dr. Melissa Bloom is a board-certified family medicine physician at Bloom Direct Care in Waialua, Hawaii, with more than 15 years of experience since her residency. Born and raised in Hawaii, with family roots there going back five generations, she graduated from Punahou School and earned her degree magna cum laude from the University of Washington. Her residency training in family medicine took her to Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, and she returned home to Hawaii for good in 2005.

Since then she has practiced family medicine throughout Oahu, including at Queen's Health Care Centers and Kaiser Permanente. A particular passion for working with people with disabilities led her to co-found the Sunny Buddies Program, and she later supervised medical students in that program as clinical faculty at John A. Burns School of Medicine.

At home on the North Shore, she spends time with her husband and daughter, visits family in Honolulu, and enjoys running, yoga, pilates, and the beach.
