Dr. Lauren Skattum is a gynecologist at Britt Haus in Sioux Falls, board certified as a Diplomat of Lifestyle Medicine. After more than a decade caring for women in hospital and group practice settings around the country, she has a particular interest in helping women through perimenopause, menopause, and hormonal changes, with an approach centered on hormones, metabolism, and lifestyle.
She grew up in Alabama and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama with a biochemistry degree. She then attended the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her OB/GYN residency at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio, before spending eight years in private practice in Leesburg, Florida, where she chaired the department of maternal child health.
She and her husband, Andrew, live in Sioux Falls with their two children, Hank and Alice, and a backyard vegetable garden that keeps them busy. Lauren runs, rock climbs, practices yoga, and enjoys time with her extended family.
