Lauren Britt Skattum, DO

With more than a decade of experience serving women in hospital and group practice settings across the country, Dr. Skattum is thrilled to be a gynecologist in Sioux Falls. She is passionate about empowering women to prioritize their health and wellness, and she has a particular interest in providing care for women as they navigate peri/menopause and complex hormonal challenges.

Dr. Skattum believes women are the center of their homes and their communities. Although women have a tendency to focus on others, it is when they are healthy and thriving that this positivity radiates to everyone around them. With an emphasis on hormones, metabolism, and lifestyle changes, Dr. Skattum provides a warm and welcoming environment where the nuances of your individual health and wellness needs are met.

Dr. Skattum was born and raised in Alabama and attended the University of Alabama where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biochemistry in 2006. She attended medical school at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine before completing her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, OH.

In 2014, Dr. Skattum served as chief resident and held leadership positions at the American College of Osteopathic Obstetrics and Gynecology. When her residency was complete, she moved to Leesburg, FL where she practiced in a private group for eight years and served as both the Vice Chair and Department Chair of Maternal Child Health.

Dr. Skattum achieved dual board certification as a Diplomat of Lifestyle Medicine in 2022, furthering her commitment to holistic, whole person healthcare.

Dr. Skattum and her husband, Andrew, live in Sioux Falls with their two children, Hank and Alice. In their free time, they enjoy tending to the backyard vegetable garden, cooking, and adventuring. When she is not serving her patients, Lauren runs, rock climbs, practices yoga, and spends time with her large extended family.
