Katherine Stephens, US: MD, DABFM | UK: MBChB, MRCGP (2012), DRCOG

Katherine Stephens is a board-certified family physician and the founder of Cimarron Family Practice in Montrose. She started the practice to give patients the kind of primary care she believes they deserve, thoughtful, accessible, and built on relationships, with time to actually listen.

Stephens trained at the University of Manchester in England from 2002 to 2007, then completed five years of postgraduate medical training. That included three and a half years of hospital-based rotations spanning cardiology, pulmonology, otolaryngology, emergency medicine, and endocrinology, plus a year and a half focused on primary care. She has practiced family medicine since 2012 and holds board certification both as a General Practitioner in the United Kingdom and through the American Board of Family Medicine. After scoring at the top of her certification exam, she was invited to help shape the standard-setting process for future board exams.

Two decades in medicine have shaped how she practices today. She values careful evaluation and continuity, and treats each patient as a whole person rather than a diagnosis or a single visit.
