Christine Degnon, MD, MPH

Dr. Christine Degnon is a family medicine physician at Coastal Direct Primary Care in Lewes. After studying biology and religion at Bucknell University, she spent more than two years in Kenya as a Peace Corps volunteer. She then earned her medical degree at Penn State and completed her family medicine residency in South Carolina, later adding a master's in public health from Boston University.

Having practiced in both urban and rural settings, she spent the last decade teaching medical students and residents, most recently at the University of Texas. What she loves most about family medicine is building real relationships with patients, sometimes across five generations of one family, and she sees Direct Primary Care as finally giving her the time to practice that way.

Known locally as Dr. Chris, she grew up in Northern Virginia but has spent nearly four decades visiting the Lewes-Rehoboth Beach area, and she's excited to now call it home.
