Ben Convington, MD

Dr. Ben Covington is a family medicine physician and the heart and soul of Covington Family Health in Southlake. He knew from an early age he wanted to be a doctor, graduating from the University of Texas School of Medicine in San Antonio in 2001 and completing his Family Medicine residency at Texas Tech Institute for Family Medicine in Amarillo in 2004.

He opened his first practice in the small town of Dumas, Texas, and stayed until his kids grew up and moved away. He and his wife, Lori, then relocated to the Dallas-Fort Worth area to be closer to family. After a stretch in emergency medicine, Covington returned to his roots and opened Covington Family Health with Lori, bringing more than 20 years of experience with him.

The couple has also spent years on medical mission work, from northern Belize to a small village in Tanzania, where Covington worked in a local clinic while Lori fed people in the community. In 2015 they founded African Christian Ministries, a nonprofit serving East Africa.
