Phil Austin, MD

Dr. Phil Austin is a board certified family medicine physician at Dare Direct Primary Care, PLLC in Nags Head. He has practiced medicine on the Outer Banks since 2013, and after growing tired of insurance red tape and assembly-line medicine, he opened his own practice so he could spend real time with patients and treat them the way medicine is supposed to work.

He trained at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, where he graduated with honors, and that foundation still shapes the unhurried, patient-first approach he brings to his practice today.

When he's not seeing patients, Dr. Austin enjoys spending time with family, along with fishing, camping, gardening and music.
