Shaleah Jones, MD

Shaleah Jones is a family medicine physician who practices at DawnMD in Pullman. She trained with an emphasis on rural care through her family medicine residency in Greeley, Colorado, serving as chief resident before her first attending role in Broken Bow, Nebraska, where she handled everything from obstetrics and cesareans to emergency and nursing home medicine. She later joined Pullman Family Medicine, practicing full-spectrum outpatient care with obstetrics and pediatrics and serving as hospice medical director.

After years of watching insurance rules pile up between her and her patients, prior authorizations, complicated billing, front desk waits, and prescriptions that turn out unaffordable at the pharmacy, she made the move to direct primary care. Cutting out the insurance middleman lets her slow down, spend real time with people, and keep care accessible rather than rushed.

The relationships she builds with her patients are still what she enjoys most about medicine, and direct primary care gives her the room to put those relationships first again.
