Dallin Hubbard, MD PhD

Dallin Hubbard is a pediatrician and physician-scientist at Direct Care Pediatrics in Sandy. He earned both an MD and a PhD in biomedical engineering and nanotechnology from the University of Utah, then completed his pediatric residency at Riley Hospital in Indiana, where he cared for medically complex children and trained extensively in neonatology.

His path has run through research as much as the exam room. He has co-founded startups, published several first-author papers, holds a US patent, and spent time as a visiting researcher at University College Dublin, work he sees as a way to bring scientific discovery into everyday medical care. Even so, he says nothing prepared him for pediatrics quite like raising his own seven kids and watching families struggle through fevers, long waits, and appointments that feel rushed and impersonal.

That experience led him to found Direct Care Pediatrics, built around flexible, individualized care that stays current with the latest treatments. He works comfortably with families who lean holistic and those who prefer traditional evidence-based medicine, and he's glad to perform the medical assessments military recruits need before heading off to boot camp.
