Andrew Gilchrist, MD

Andrew Gilchrist is a board-certified internal medicine physician at Direct Primary Care of Eugene in Eugene, Oregon. He takes a comprehensive approach to care built around prevention, and his colleagues have recognized that standard by naming him to Eugene Magazine's Top Doctors issue.

He trained in internal medicine at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics after earning his medical degree at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, where he was named outstanding student in internal medicine. Before that he studied biology at the University of Washington, running track for the school's team. Nearly 25 years in practice in Oregon have shaped his focus on preventive health, managing patients with complex or multiple conditions, and treating osteoarthritis, along with a particular interest in caring for active people and athletes. He has also served the local medical community, including two years as Chief of Staff at McKenzie Willamette Medical Center and a term as president of the Lane County Medical Society.

When he is not with patients, Gilchrist can usually be found running, cycling, tinkering with cars, or spending time with his family.
