Dr. Katriny Ikbal is the founder and Board Certified Family Physician at DirectMed DPC.

She got her start working in urgent care and became disillusioned with the way the healthcare system prioritized insurance companies over patients and providers.

After experiencing frustration with the constraints of the seven-minute visit model in the insurance-based system, Dr. Ikbal knew there had to be a better way.

She recognized that practicing good medicine required an investment in the patient-physician relationship, which was not possible in the insurance-based model.

At DirectMed DPC, Dr. Ikbal is able to practice medicine in collaboration with the patient to achieve better health outcomes at a lower cost to both patient and physician.
