Rob Lamberts, MD

Rob Lamberts is a physician board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics, practicing at Dr. Edward Boland, MD in Augusta. He arrived in 1994 fresh out of residency and spent nearly two decades building a traditional practice, but by 2012 the long hours were pulling him away from the patient care he wanted to give. A colleague introduced him to direct primary care, a model nobody had tried locally yet.

In February 2013, working alongside his longtime nurse Jamie, he opened one of the first DPC practices in Georgia. Two other doctors later reached out wanting to start their own direct care practices, and the three joined forces to build Welcome Health.

Lamberts grew up in Rochester, New York, the fifth of six children, and studied at Houghton College before attending Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and completing a combined residency at Indiana University. He plays guitar, mandolin, piano and cello, sings, and spends free time kayaking, biking and hiking with his wife, Beth, and friends.
