Caroline Roeder, DO

Dr. Caroline Roeder is a family physician at Dr. Roeder Direct Primary Care in Anacortes. She grew up in the Columbia River Gorge, where an early love of science took her through dreams of veterinary medicine, space medicine, and teaching biology before she settled on a different path. Dissecting a cow heart with her sister for a high school project deepened her interest in anatomy, and she wrote her senior project on prevention as the cure for heart disease.

She studied biology and chemistry at the University of Washington, working as a phlebotomist at Harborview Medical Center and as a lifeguard and swim instructor at Seattle Children's Hospital before medical school. After joining the second class at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine, she completed residency at Family Medicine of Southwest Washington. In 2016 she and her family settled in Anacortes, where she practiced full spectrum family medicine at Island Hospital, including obstetric, inpatient, and outpatient care.

Caring for whole families across every stage of life is a particular joy for her, with interests in lifestyle medicine, women's health, and pediatrics. Her husband and two children keep her busy sailing, gardening, trail running, and reading health books in her free time.
