Gregory Holton, MD

Gregory Holton, MD is an internal medicine physician at Dune Shores Health in Spring Lake. Raised in a retirement community in East Tennessee, he grew close to older adults early on, and his grandmother's dementia and his mother's stroke later pointed him toward medicine.

He studied biomedical engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, then spent eight years in Houston completing medical school, residency, and a geriatrics fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine, where he met his wife Diane. The couple settled in Grand Haven in 2018, and he went on to lead a residency clinic at Trinity Health Muskegon and was later elected Department Chair of Primary Care.

He opened Dune Shores Health so patients get the time and attention they deserve, believing the doctor and patient, not the insurance company, should decide the course of care. He listens closely and coordinates with specialists along the way. Five marathons in and still running, he also finds time for classical piano and family.
