Adam Owens, MD

Dr. Adam Owens is a family medicine physician and founder of Durango Primary Care in Durango, Colorado. He brings more than 15 years of experience in family medicine, having graduated from Albany Medical College in 2011 and completed his residency at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction in 2014.

Since settling in Durango, he has treated patients across internal medicine, pediatrics and women's health, with a particular interest in acute and urgent care and sports medicine. Before starting his own practice, he served as team physician for Fort Lewis College athletics, and he still volunteers as a clinical professor of family medicine at the University of Colorado, teaching one day a week alongside a medical student. He was drawn to direct primary care for the chance to give patients unhurried, personalized attention.

Owens lives in Durango with his wife and three boys. He coaches youth lacrosse and spends his free time biking, skiing and fly fishing.
