Throughout my career— from free clinics and Federally Qualified Health Centers serving diverse communities to tertiary care centers treating the most complex cases —I saw the same troubling pattern: My patients feeling lost in a maze of specialists, referrals, and insurance bureaucracy. Time constrained appointments that barely allowed me to scratch the surface of health concerns. My colleagues and I spending more time on paperwork than patient care. Healthcare executives profiting while both doctors and patients suffered.

I watched brilliant colleagues burn out. I saw my patients avoid necessary care because they couldn't navigate the system. I realized that all our advanced treatments meant nothing if people couldn't access the basic primary care they needed from a physician they trust.
