Julia Gold, MD

Hi, I'm Dr. Julia Gold, a board-certified family medicine physician and the founder of Encore Concierge Medicine in Chicago.

I created Encore after spending about nine years in traditional primary care and realizing how hard it was to care for people the way I wanted to. Patients were often rushed, appointments were hard to get, and it was too easy for important details to get lost between visits, specialists, and systems. I wanted to build a practice where I could slow down, know my patients well, and help connect the dots.

That is really what Encore is about. It is not just about longer appointments or easier access, although those things matter a lot. It is about having a doctor who knows your story, understands your goals, and has the time to think through the full picture with you.

I love primary care because it gives me the chance to care for the whole person, not just one symptom, lab result, or diagnosis at a time. My approach is warm, practical, and collaborative. I want patients to feel comfortable asking questions, sharing what is really going on, and being honest about what feels realistic in their lives.

Some visits are about prevention and long-term planning. Some are about a new concern that needs attention. And sometimes the most important part is simply having someone who can help you make sense of everything.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology from the University of Texas at Austin, completed medical school at St. Matthew's University School of Medicine, and trained in family medicine at Ascension Saint Mary Chicago. I also hold an MBA in Healthcare Management, which has helped me build Encore as an independent, physician-led practice designed around patients, not rushed systems.

I'm honored to have been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor in 2025 and 2026 and as a Castle Connolly Exceptional Woman in Medicine for 2026, a distinction featured in the June/July 2026 edition of Chicago Magazine. Encore Concierge Medicine was also selected by Modern Luxury Chicago as one of the 10 Best Concierge Doctors in Chicago in 2025.

Outside of medicine, I'm a mom of three, which has made me even more aware of how busy life can feel and how important it is to have a doctor you trust. I care a lot about making healthcare feel less intimidating, less fragmented, and more human.
