Alex Vilaythong, DO, is a board certified family physician and an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern. He earned his medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship and family medicine residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, TX. Prior to the founding of Enlightened Health Direct, he was a family physician and medical director at a Baylor Scott & White family clinic in Fort Worth for over 10 years and an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Dr. Vilaythong has published over a dozen research articles. He is married with 3 kids and 2 dogs. In his spare time he serves as an Assistant Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America and he is active in his church in Arlington. He has also serves on the advisory committee for a non-profit organization based in Washington DC after 9 years of serving as their board of directors.
