Beau Gedrick

Dr. Beau Gedrick grew up in Clinton, IN, and attended Butler University, where he played football but retired due to a neck injury. He was also a lifter for the cheer team. He graduated in 2000 with a biology major and a minor in chemistry. He then worked for one year at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals before attending medical school at Nova Southeastern University's College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. While attending medical school, he was accepted into a one-year fellowship to learn Osteopathic Manipulation. He then proceeded on to his Emergency Medicine residency in Detroit at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, during which he spent time with the physicians for the Detroit Red Wings. After residency, he finished his primary care sports medicine fellowship at NSU-COM and accepted a position as a team physician for the NSU Sharks and medical director for the athletic training department and program. He came to The Medical College of Georgia in 2016, where he held the position of associate professor in both the emergency department and sports medicine department, working as one of the team physicians for the Augusta GreenJackets, Augusta University Jaguars, and multiple area high schools. Dr. Gedrick also served as the medical director for the Augusta Ironman and Paceline for several years. He was the medical director for the Ortho On-Demand clinic and held an appointment in the family medicine department as a faculty member for the sports medicine fellowship.
