Julie McPherson, DNP

Julie McPherson is a board-certified family nurse practitioner at Focus Health Family Medicine in Tacoma. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Arizona in 2013 and has practiced as a family nurse practitioner ever since. Before that, she worked as a registered nurse in the intensive care unit, an experience that taught her how much it matters to be fully present for patients and their families during difficult moments.

McPherson treats patients of every age, from newborns to older adults, handling everything from preventive care and chronic conditions to in-office procedures. She sees the whole person rather than just the diagnosis and believes healing starts with listening closely and working as a team. The Direct Primary Care model appealed to her because smaller patient panels and longer visits leave room for the kind of trust and continuity she thinks every patient deserves.

At home, she keeps busy with her husband, their two daughters and their dog, whether that means sports practice, bike rides or a family walk.
