Clara is a dual board-certified nurse practitioner with a passion for supporting healthy families. She worked in the intensive care unit as a registered nurse prior to obtaining her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Creighton University. She chose her family nurse practitioner (FNP) specialty to be able to support individuals of all ages. She believes that mental health is inherently connected to physical health, and enjoys working with children and adolescents to care for their mental well-being. She is also board certified as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP), and is a Pediatric Mental Health Specialist, and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Working to address health disparities is an essential part of her practice. Her clinical experience includes emergency medicine as well as primary and mental health care in a federally qualified health center. She studied Spanish throughout her education, and is proud to serve families in both English and Spanish.
