Joanna Rulf, DO is an osteopathic physician specializing in primary care and integrative medicine. She delivers evidence-based primary care with a focus on osteopathic manipulation and acupuncture as powerful vehicles to increase overall wellness.
After more than a decade of caring for patients in a fee-for-service health care model, she has experienced the many ways in which the doctor-patient relationship has become fractured and limited in this system. With the strong desire to re-focus on the doctor-patient relationship, she is thrilled to have the opportunity to provide more thorough, timely and individualized care.
Dr. Rulf attended Rutgers University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and spent a year abroad studying and playing soccer at the University of Sussex, UK. During a short career in the publishing industry in NYC she experienced a surprising but undeniable calling to practice medicine.
Dr. Rulf received her medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed residency in Family Medicine at Maine Medical Center, and was selected to complete an additional fellowship year in Integrative Medicine.
