Nina Lucas, MD

Dr. Nina Lucas is a board-certified family physician at Grace Direct Primary Care in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Raised in a Marine Corps family, she traveled widely as a child, an experience that sparked her interest in different cultures and her drive to help people.

She studied chemistry at Guilford College in Greensboro, then went to Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans for a master's in public health and tropical medicine, earning her medical degree in 1994. An Air Force scholarship carried her through family medicine residency in Florida, and she went on to practice in Mississippi until leaving the military in 2000 to spend more time with her children.

Family drew her to Virginia in 2006, and she settled in Elizabeth City in 2009, working at several practices before opening her own. She has four children, enjoys gardening, stays active, leads Bible studies, and looks forward to more mission trips.
