I love developing relationships with my patients, hearing their stories, and helping them realize their goals. When not in the office, I'm the busy Mom of three adventurous little boys. I enjoy joining Dave, my wonderful husband of 12 years, and our kids on kayak adventures on the rivers and lakes of Maine, exploring new trail systems, and learning the histories of unexpected places.
Dr. Norman completed the Osteopathic Cranial Academy Introductory Course in 2012, and the University of New England Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Course series in 2013. She then spent over 250 hours shadowing local osteopathic physicians, during her Family Medicine residency at Maine Medical Center. After residency graduation she spent the past 8 years incorporating manual medicine into her primary care practice.
Her unique treatments blend acupuncture meridians, Ayurvedic marma points, osteopathic trigger points, fascial technique, and craniosacral technique. Dr. Norman began her study of Ayurveda in 2002, and considers Ayurveda her first 'language' of medicine.
She then traveled to Mathura, India, to spend four months living among, and volunteering with, clinicians at Dhanvantari Dham, a traditional Ayurvedic clinic. She is currently a General Member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association.
Dr. Norman began her study of acupuncture traditions during medical school, and incorporates this knowledge into her manual medicine treatments. She uses acupressure, as well as acupuncture needling, to release restrictions around chronic sports injuries and areas of chronic pain.
