Anastasia Norman, MD

Dr. Anastasia Norman practices family medicine with a focus on manual medicine at Grace Health in South Portland, Maine. She completed the Osteopathic Cranial Academy's introductory course in 2012 and the University of New England's osteopathic manipulative medicine series in 2013, then logged more than 250 hours shadowing local osteopathic physicians during her family medicine residency at Maine Medical Center. In the eight years since, she has built manual medicine into her primary care practice.

Her treatments blend acupuncture meridians, Ayurvedic marma points, osteopathic trigger points, fascial technique, and craniosacral technique. She began studying Ayurveda in 2002 and calls it her first language of medicine, and later spent four months in Mathura, India, volunteering at the Ayurvedic clinic Dhanvantari Dham. A general member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association, she started learning acupuncture traditions in medical school, work she now uses to ease chronic sports injuries and pain.

She and her husband Dave, married twelve years, keep busy with their three adventurous sons, kayaking Maine's rivers and lakes and exploring new trails and the histories behind unexpected places.
