Tara Elia, MD

Dr. Tara Elia is a board certified Family Medicine physician and the founder of Gratia DPC in Bloomfield Township. She started the practice because she felt healthcare had become too rushed and impersonal, with patients often leaving appointments feeling unheard.

She built Gratia DPC around the idea that good care starts with a real relationship between doctor and patient. Her approach centers on taking the time to listen and understand what patients are dealing with, whether that means managing a chronic condition, focusing on prevention, or working through weight loss.

Dr. Elia completed her Family Medicine residency at DMC Sinai Grace Hospital, where she was named both Intern of the Year and Resident of the Year. She also completed advanced training in Obesity Medicine through Harvard Medical School, training that continues to shape how she thinks about preventive and long term health. Her hope for Gratia DPC is simple, to bring compassion and connection back into medicine.
