Tara Elia, MD

Hi, I'm Dr. Tara Elia, founder of Gratia Direct Primary Care and a board certified Family Medicine physician. I started Gratia DPC because I felt healthcare was becoming too rushed and impersonal. Too often, patients leave appointments feeling unheard or like there simply was not enough time to address what really matters. I wanted to create a different kind of practice where patients feel comfortable, cared for, and never rushed.

At Gratia Direct Primary Care, I believe good healthcare starts with a strong relationship between doctor and patient. My goal is to take the time to truly listen, understand your concerns, and work together to help you feel your best. Whether you are managing chronic conditions, focused on prevention, working on weight loss, or simply looking for a doctor who listens, I am here to support you.

I completed my Family Medicine residency at DMC Sinai Grace Hospital, where I was honored to receive both Intern of the Year and Resident of the Year. I also completed advanced training in Obesity Medicine through Harvard Medical School, which has helped shape my approach to preventive and long term health.

My hope in opening Gratia DPC was simple: to bring compassion, trust, and connection back to healthcare and create the kind of medical practice where patients truly feel seen and cared for.
