Dr. Bill Greer graduated from Worcester Country School in Berlin, MD, in 1976, where he was the Valedictorian of his class. He went on to graduate from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with Cum Laude Honors. He was also inducted into Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
Dr. Greer attended the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He completed his Family Medicine Residency training, serving as Chief Resident in his third year, at Bayfront Medical Center, in St. Petersburg, Florida. During his residency training is also where he met his beautiful wife, Bonnie.
They moved back to the Ocean City area in 1988, when Dr. Greer took over Dr. Frank Townsend's practice. He worked at the Tenth Street Medical Center with Dr. Steve Waters, providing a combination of urgent care and primary care services. Noticing a need for medical care in the area, Dr. Greer and Dr. Waters helped in the promotion of Atlantic General Hospital, where Dr. Greer actually admitted the first patient!
While loving the opportunity to give back to his community, he felt the need to find more work-life balance. In 2003, Dr. Greer moved back into private practice, which then developed into his own separate membership-style practice in 2005. This membership-style practice has evolved over the years, and Dr. Greer has now been joined by over 1,700 other doctors in the United States in a practice style known as Direct Primary Care (DPC). He is thrilled that his daughter, Julian, joined the practice in January 2023 as his partner.
Dr. Greer and his wife, Bonnie, live in Bishopville, and are very proud of their two daughters. Their younger daughter, Alison, is a civil engineer with RS&H. Dr. Greer has developed an outstanding reputation on the Eastern Shore as a diagnostician and primary care expert.
