Heather Hyun, DO

Dr. Heather Hyun is dual-boarded in family medicine and integrative holistic medicine at Heather Hyun, DO in South Pasadena. She grew up outside Chicago and moved to Los Angeles to study at USC. After earning a degree in Critical Studies and Film Production, she worked as a film and television sound effects editor.

Along the way she trained in Tae Soo Do and Hwa Rang Do, earning a black belt and becoming an instructor. She also apprenticed under an acupuncturist who practiced Tui-Na, a form of Chinese manual manipulation. A sabbatical traveling through Asia led her to apply to acupuncture and osteopathic medical schools. She spent a year at Emperor's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine before being accepted to Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she became a pre-doctoral fellow in osteopathic manipulation. Her residency was completed at Glendale Adventist Family Medicine, and she earned a Medical Acupuncture Certification through the Helms Medical Institute.

She and her husband, her college sweetheart, are raising two boys. She still makes time for cooking, traveling, hiking and martial arts.
