He grew up in Boulder, Colorado, where the Front Range mountains and an active lifestyle shaped him from an early age. His parents had him scrambling up the Flatirons, backpacking to alpine lakes, and running the Bolder Boulder as a kid, and that connection to the outdoors has stayed with him ever since.

Growing up surrounded by Colorado's trails and peaks gave Matthews a firsthand sense of how movement and an active life tie into overall health, something that continues to inform how he thinks about caring for patients at Highpoint Direct Care.
