The hospital taught me what primary care could prevent. I spent the first chapter of my career caring for hospitalized patients in the acute setting, heart failure exacerbations, uncontrolled diabetes, strokes, complications of long-untreated hypertension. What I want for my patients. I want you to never need the hospital. I want you to feel like you have a doctor again. I want to catch the diabetes before it becomes a disability, the blood pressure before it becomes a stroke, and the weight gain before it becomes a heart attack. That's the whole job.
