Mary Ellen Hoffman, MD

Dr. Mary Ellen Hoffman practices family medicine at Hoffman Family Medicine, PLLC in Oneonta, New York.

She studied biochemistry and exercise science at Ithaca College, playing center field for the Bombers softball team before earning her medical degree at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. There she joined the Rural Medical Education program, spending nine months in Oneonta at Oneonta Family Practice, then completed her residency at Somerset Family Practice Residency in Somerville, New Jersey, graduating in 2004. After seven years at Towne Centre Family Practice in Hillsborough, New Jersey, she returned to Oneonta Family Practice in 2010, then opened Hoffman Family Medicine in 2016. Since then she has studied functional medicine, drawn to understanding the root causes of dysfunction and disease.

A small town girl from Alfred, New York, she met her husband, J, playing Ultimate Frisbee in Syracuse, and the two now raise their children, Jamie and Beckett, in Oneonta.
