Thomas White

Dr. Thomas White is a board-certified family medicine physician also certified in clinical lipidology, practicing at Hometown Direct Care in Cherryville, North Carolina.

A native of Cherryville, White earned his undergraduate and medical degrees at Duke University before completing his family medicine residency at Charlotte Memorial Hospital. He returned home in 1988 to open Cherryville Primary Care, and in 2015 he founded Hometown Direct Care, the first direct primary care practice in the area, which has since grown to serve patients in both Cherryville and Shelby. He served as president of the North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians in 2015, was named the state's Family Physician of the Year in 2020, and was honored as Cherryville's Citizen of the Year in 2021.

White is married to Diana, and the couple has two children, Whitney, a registered nurse, and Daniel, a general surgeon, along with three grandchildren.
