Dorcas Lacayo, MD, MPH

Dr. Lacayo earned her Medical Degree from the National Autonomous University of Honduras and completed her Family Medicine residency and Master's in Public Health at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. She has been practicing medicine for more than 13 years. Dr. Lacayo strongly believes that prevention is the best medicine.

The relationship between doctors and patients has been profoundly broken by the intrusion of insurance companies and the complexities they bring. Patients have been reduced to mere numbers in a system driven by profit, while doctors have become pawns, pressured to prioritize efficiency over meaningful care just to keep the system running. This dynamic has eroded the trust and connection that once defined the doctor-patient relationship, leaving both parties dissatisfied and disconnected in a system that no longer serves their best interests.

By eliminating insurance companies from my medical practice, I am able to provide a more personalized approach where the patient is truly the center of attention. This model allows me to spend more time addressing individual needs and building stronger doctor-patient relationships. Additionally, cutting out insurance significantly reduces overhead costs, enabling me to pass those savings directly to my patients. This makes it possible to deliver high-quality, affordable medical care to people of all ages and social backgrounds, ensuring accessibility for everyone.
