Michelle Garcia, MD

Dr. Michelle Garcia is a board certified family medicine physician and the founder of Horizons Direct Primary Care in Scarborough, Maine. She earned her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh and trained in family medicine at Maine Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency in Augusta before practicing full spectrum primary care across New England.

After years of pushing for change inside the traditional healthcare system, she concluded its problems went too deep to fix from within and found her answer in the direct primary care movement growing around Portland. Her practice centers on preventative health and lifestyle approaches to chronic disease, along with women's health, pediatrics, mental health, and palliative care. She has also taught as a clinical instructor at Tufts Medical School.

Originally from California, she has made Maine home and has lived in Scarborough for eight years now with her husband, daughter, and their Bernese Mountain Dog, Bailey.
